Notice of Public Hearing October 25th To amend Chapter 220, Article XI (Cold War Veterans Exemption), Section 220-70 of the Putnam County Code entitled “Exemption Granted”, as adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on October 3, 2017 by Resolution #214

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the County Executive of the County of Putnam at Room 300 of the County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512 on the 25th day of October, 2017 at 4:30 in the afternoon, and again at 6:30 in the evening concerning:

A LOCAL LAW

To amend Chapter 220, Article XI (Cold War Veterans Exemption), Section 220-70 of the Putnam County Code entitled “Exemption Granted”, as adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on October 3, 2017 by Resolution #214.

This Local Law amends Section 220-70 of Chapter 220 of the Putnam County Code entitled “Exemption Granted” in order to provide that the exemption authorized by said section shall apply to qualified owners of qualifying real property for as long as they remain qualifying owners, without regard to such ten year limitation contained in Section 458-b of the NYS Real Property Tax Law.

This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon its filing with the Secretary of State.
